The new week has started. We’ve got many interesting things going on.
This week, on stage of the Mariinsky Theatre we are hosting our guests from Naples:
the Opera and the Orchestra
of the Teatro di San Carlo
(I pagliacci on October 19th & 20th, Verdi Gala on October 21st).
This weekend, on stage of the Mariinsky Theatre we are presenting a new project that stars
Diana Vishneva:
Dialogues (October 22nd & 23rd). This weekend, at the Mariinsky Concert Hall, we’re performing
Benjamin Britten’s opera A Midsummer Night’s Dream staged by Claudia Solti,
last premiere
of the previous season, one of the brightest productions designed specially for the Mariinsky Concert Hall (October 22nd & 23rd).
The Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev
continue their USA & Canada tour
and the Mariinsky Ballet continues its 24-day residency on stage
of the Teatro Regio in Turin.
The whole October goes for us under the sign of Tchaikovsky.
Our Orchestra performed a complete Tchaikovsky Symphony cycle in Beijing, New York (Carnegie Hall)
and Berkeley. We are performing selected symphonies by Tchaikovsky at the USA and Canadian venues on our tour.
Earlier this month we released our first
DVD and Blu-Ray
Mariinsky Label recordings of Tchaikovsky’s Symphonies Nos. 4, 5 & 6 made in Paris in January 2010.
Later this month, the Mariinsky Orchestra and Valery Gergiev will pay a three-evening visit
to Baden-Baden Festspielhaus
in order to perform the complete Tchaikovsky Symphony cycle and his instrumental concerti with
the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition Winners.
In mid-September,
iTunes has launched the audio version
from our DVD/Blu-Ray release of Tchaikovsky Symphonies Nos. 4, 5 & 6.
This is exclusive to iTunes and will not be made available anywhere else, on either CD or download.
The albums are sold individually, priced at $7.99 (US) or £5.99 (UK) and include video of one movement for each and a digital booklet.
And of course all of our Mariinsky Label audio recordings (ten releases to date), which have been released in SACD,
can also be purchased and downloaded on iTunes, so you can always listen to our releases ahead of their appearance on sale in retail.
In addition to our releases, iTunes has set up
Valery Gergiev Fan Room that gives an opportunity for all Maestro’s
fans to stay updated with the news about his records: both
on the Mariinsky Label
and the LSO Live.
Through Ping,
the iTunes’ native social network, you could share your news and impressions about our concerts and recordings.
Finally, whether you are attending our concerts or not, feel free to follow what’s going on tours via our
Facebook
and twitter pages.
You see: there are many ways to enjoy our music-making!
